End of Term Awards

joharaOn Thursday 24th March we ended the spring term with an awards assembly celebrating the success of our students. Mr Benson was joined by two of the governing body, Lucy Morris and Cindy Rampersaud, who helped to present the awards to students. Johara (8 Dyson) opened the assembly with a poetry reading, before Mr Benson began presenting the awards.

In addition to awards for the sports person of the half term, reader of the half term, and excellence and resilience in humanities, the rowing team were celebrated for their success in the National Championship this term.

Rowing teamThere were two categories of student leadership roles selected this term, and students received badges to recognise their success during the awards assembly. The PE department selected their Year 7 sports captains, and the IT department selected student technicians to work alongside the IT technicians.

Mr Wills and the Samba Drumming enrichment group wowed the school with a lively percussion performance to end a fantastic spring term.

We wish all of our students a safe and restful Easter Break, and we look forward to welcoming them back on Wednesday 13th April.

Sports Captains

The sports captains were selected based on their contribution to school sport and effort within all PE lessons. They have continually demonstrated the key skills required to be a sports leader, including; organisation, teamwork and good communication. The PE department believes that these students are capable of being responsible for teams within their house to ensure that their house is represented in all competitions.
