GCSE Success!

Kensington Aldridge Academy are celebrating another set of strong GCSE results this year. As Year 11 students pick up their exam results today, we are delighted to announce that 79% achieved grades 4-9 in both English & Maths GCSE, with more than 80% of all subjects awarded at grade 4 and above, and 30% awarded the very top grades of 7-9 (A-A*).

Principal Anna Jordan said: “These results just go to show that hard work and commitment really do pay off. We are so proud of our students and of their GCSE achievements… especially those who have faced additional challenges this year. These results will open so many doors in the future and I’m delighted to see them so happy and excited about their next steps. Many students are staying on with us into KAA6, but some are moving onto colleges or apprenticeships this Autumn. To all, we send our heartfelt congratulations and best wishes for the future.”

Headline figures include:

·        30% of all entries awarded the high grades of 7-9 (A*/A)

·        68% of all entries graded a 5 or above

·        82% of all entries awarded a 4 or above

·        79% of students achieving grades 4 and above in both English and Maths, with 59% of all student achieving strong passes of 5 and above in both subjects

·        Attainment 8 of 51.7

The following subjects achieved stand-out performance:

·        100% of Physics GCSE at grade 5+ (75% with high grades 7-9)

·        100% of Chemistry GCSE at grade 5+ (79% with high grades 7-9)

·        96% of Biology GCSE at grades 5+ (63% with high grades 7-9)

·        87% of Music GCSE at grade 5+ (53% at grades 7-9)

·        82% of Religious Education GCSE at grade 5+ (43% at grades 7-9)

·        85% of Statistics GCSE at grade 5+ (41% with high grades 7-9)

·        80% of English Literature GCSE at grade 5+ (38% with high grades 7-9)

·        78% of French GCSE at grade 5+ (36% with high grades 7-9)

·        65% of History GCSE at grade 5+ (34% with high grades 7-9)

There were a number of stand-out individual performances, with the following students achieving top grades across the board:

Omara           Achieved nine grade 9s, one grade 8

Yasmin          Achieved nine grade 8s, one grade 9

Jessica            Achieved all grades 7-9

Sumayyah    Achieved all grades 7-9

All of these results are testament to the hard work and dedication of students and staff, and to the support of their parents and friends. Congratulations to each of them.
