Key Stage 3 Christmas Stretch Project
At KAA, over the school holidays students in KS3 (years 7, 8 and 9) carry out ‘Stretch Projects’. These are independent projects drawing on a range of subject disciplines, but led by the core subjects. Details relating to each specific Stretch Project are shared with students in the final week before the holiday. Stretch Projects are a great way of developing independence and curiosity in our students and prizes are awarded for the best entries in each year (silver and gold merits).
For this holiday’s stretch project, the project is led by Design Technology. We are asking students to research a key event that happened this year and create or design something inspired by this. Of course, the most historical and notable thing to happen this year was the pandemic. However, it is not all doom and gloom, and there were some positive moments amongst this. For more information and I on the project, please see the attached Stretch Project guide from Mr Patel.
Students can produce a response to the theme in a form of posters, paintings, drawings, written pieces; songs, poems, letters, essays, raps, film and video, Tik Toks, Instagram reels, short videos, models, sculptures, 3D outcomes, open to all KS3 students. Please send photos of submissions to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The deadline for all submissions is Friday 15th January 2021.
