Return to school & exams update

by Vashti Turner  on February 23, 2021  in  Academy News

We’re delighted to confirm that all KAA students will be returning to school the week beginning 8th March.

This is fabulous news and we can’t wait to have everyone back. Between now and then, students must keep going with remote learning. This will put them in the strongest possible position for when school returns. Students must not miss online lessons as it will create gaps in their understanding.

Students will return in a staggered way the week beginning Monday 8th March, with different year groups starting on different days. This will allow everyone to be tested for Covid before they return to class. We aim to get testing completed as quickly as possible, but will need parents’ and students’ cooperation for this. From Monday 15th March at the latest, all students will be back and lessons and we will be operating a full timetable.

Parents were emailed these updates from the Principal regarding the return to school:

Return to School Schedule – 1 March 2021

The schedule for the staggered start from 8th March is now confirmed as follows. Year 7 and Year 8 will return to lessons at KAA2, all other students will return to KAA1. However, all COVID testing will take place at the testing centre at KAA1.

If you haven’t seen it yet, please take a few minutes to watch this short informational video about KAA testing, preferably with your child alongside you:

Once you have watched it, please take a moment to complete this short consent form (ignore if you have done this already): https://forms.gle/bU74KNLequEavpvH8

Following Ofqual’s consultation publication Mr Benson has also provided the below video to give further clarity to Year 11 & Year 13 about how their grades will be awarded this summer.
