Summer Camps 2022

We are delighted to announce an exciting summer opportunity at KAA for students in years 6, 7, 8 and 9 to join a range of camp activities this summer. These are all free and will be a wonderful chance for your child to get out of the house and take part in activities they are passionate about. All of the camps are delivered by KAA staff. Please note that places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.  

Year 6 Camps

Y6 Art Camp – Monday 25th July to Friday 29th July, 10am-3pm (30 places)

At this camp, students will have the opportunity to express their creativity by working with a range of resources and materials across the week, culminating in the creation of various pieces of art work. Led by KAA teachers, this camp will introduce students to art at KAA in a safe, welcoming environment.

Year 6 Drama, Dance and Music Summer Camp – Monday 25th July to Friday 29th July, 10am-3pm (30 places)

Performing and Creative Arts lie at the heart of the KAA curriculum and all Year 7 students are encouraged to take part in the range of activities we offer in this area. This camp will be an exciting introduction to PCA at our school and will comprise drama, dance and music sessions. Students who applied to KAA via the PCA aptitude route should attend and have already been contacted by our Director of Performing Arts, Mr Dunning. However, there will be extra places open to all new Year 7 students which you can register for now.

Year 6 PE Camp – Monday 1st August to Friday 5th August, 10am-3pm (30 places)

At this camp, students will have the opportunity to take part in a variety of sports and fitness activities. Led by our teachers, students do not need a pre-existing talent or interest in sport – we can develop it in them! This camp is open to all new Year 7 students.

Year 6 Transition Booster Camps – Monday 8th August to Friday 12th August, 10am-3pm (18 places)

Please note that in the first instance Transition Booster Camps in English and Maths will be offered directly to students whose primary schools have said they could particularly benefit from extra literacy or numeracy work. We will write to you with further details if your child has been recommended for these camps. However, if you would like to express an interest in your child attending the Maths or English summer camp, you can do so via the registration form.

Year 6 Registration

Please act quickly to sign up for these camps to avoid disappointment. To register all you need to do is fill in this simple form: https://forms.gle/rMWcMn4W7giwiXuC9. To request a place on any of these summer camps, please complete this registration form no later than Friday 8th July at 5pm. We will contact you to confirm which summer camps your child has been allocated a place on by Friday 15th July.

Parents registering for more than one camp will be asked to express a preference, as we may only be able to allow students to attend one camp as opposed to all three, subject to numbers. PCA aptitude students do not need to register for the PCA camp if they have already emailed Mr Dunning to reserve their child a place.

Year 7 to Year to Camps

Year 7 – Year 9 Drama, Dance and Music Summer Camp – Monday 25th July to Friday 29th July, 10am-3pm (30 places)

This camp is wonderful chance for your child to perform with students from KAA as well develop their skills in the performing arts. This camp is open to all Year 7, 8 & 9 students on a first come, first served basis.

Year 7 & Year 8 PE Camp – Monday 1st August to Friday 5th August, 10am-3pm (30 places)

At this camp, students will have the opportunity to take part in a variety of sports and fitness activities. This camp is open to all Year 7 & Year 8 students on a first come, first served basis.

Year 7 & Year 8 EAL Camp – Monday 25th July to Friday 29th July (invite only)

This camp is aimed at supporting students arriving at KAA with English as a second language, our staff will contact families directly to invite them to this camp. If you interested in your child attending, please get in touch via info@kaa.org.uk and we will forward your query on to the Deputy SENCo organising this camp.

Year 7, 8 & 9 School Within a School (SWS) Wellbeing Camp – Monday 1st & Tuesday 2nd August (invite only)

This camp is delivered by our pastoral support staff by invitation only for students who would benefit from this support. Parents will be contacted directly by the SWS team if we would like your child to attend. If you interested in your child attending, please get in touch via info@kaa.org.uk and we will forward your query on to the pastoral team running this camp.
