Year 12 Taster Day
by Vashti Turner on July 8, 2020 in Sixth Form
We are holding our Sixth Form Taster Day virtually today, Wednesday 8th July. We are sorry that we can’t see you face-to-face, but we hope that the lessons you do today will give you a good feel for what studying with us will be like from September. Offer holders have been emailed a link to the taster day website.
Before students get to the taster sessions, we ask that they re-confirm preferred subject choices. This is still not a firm commitment, and offer holders will only make their final choices on enrolment day on Thursday 20 August. One big advantage of this online format is that offer holders can check out as many subjects as they like. We don’t expect students to do all of them, of course, but if you are hesitating between Politics, Psychology and Economics, do all three and then decide.
Students need to take a look at the introductory presentations from Mr Whitlock, the Director of Learning for Year 12 next year, and from Mr Benson, the Principal, and then go to the sections for their chosen subjects and do the taster sessions. Students will also find bridging work on this website, which needs to be completed over the summer, and which teachers will take in during the first week of full teaching in September.
