February Half-Term Intervention & Activities

Over the half term break the academy is offering intervention and revision sessions for a range of Year 11 and Year 13 students. Details of these interventions are available below. For students in other years, there are a range of activities on offer in the community and we have provided parents’ with links to some of these below.

KAA Year 11/13 Revision & Intervention Sessions

Holiday FOCUS Tuesday 14th February

The Holiday FOCUS programme is entirely free and offers pupils the opportunity to use their holidays productively by taking part in enjoyable and stimulating activities that help them to explore a particular topic. Our Careers in Healthcare Experience day is designed exclusively for students in Years 8-11, and will offer students an opportunity to learn about future pathways and careers within Medicine and Healthcare. The 1-day programme will give students the opportunity to learn about a range of healthcare careers, practise clinical skills through hands-on activities, and speak to healthcare professionals about their pathway into healthcare.

The programme will run on 14th February at IntoUniversity North Kensington centre based at The ClementJames Centre, 95 Sirdar Road, W11 4EQ, from 10am to 3pm.

Please find the student registration form which needs to be completed and signed by a parent or guardian. This form needs to be returned to the centre by Friday 10th February at the latest: Healthcare Holiday FOCUS consent form

 

Football Camp – Westway

Bloomsbury will be running a holiday football camp for the upcoming half-term (February 13-16). These camps offer a fun and engaging way for players of all skill levels to stay active while keeping their football skills sharp over the half-term period. You can now register on their website via this link.

The nearest camp venue is be the Westway Sports & Fitness Centre: Ages 7-15, Feb 13-16 10am-3pm. There’s also financial assistance for students who need it. Students on free school meals will be accepted on financial assistance.

 

Family Cookery Taster Sessions

Change4Life brings to you an opportunity to learn making new recipes together with your children during the winter, from January to March 2023 at Al Manaar Muslim Heritage Centre, 244 Acklam Road, W10 5YG

What to expect on the day?
– prepare the food together
– improve your cooking skills
– learn a new recipe
– share the meal together
– share your views on future cooking sessions
– everything will be provided

Boys’ Youth Club

MCWG is holding weekly boys’ youth club every Saturday between 5pm-7pm (8-13 years) to 7pm-9pm (14-18 years). These sessions are drop in sessions and have a range of activities from table-tennis, computer games, board games, a pool table and many other fun activities!

Canalside Youth Club

Canalside Activity Centre holds a free youthclub for ages 8-16: activities include kayaking, multi-sports, football, table tennis, basketball, coding, board games, cooking, arts & crafts and more! The session provides free hot food and access to showers, and is held every Wednesday 5:00-6:30pm.

GLUE

GLUE is a social arts programme based at The Tabernacle W11, providing free workshops for young people aged 5-16. Utilizing the arts to encourage young people to #StickTogether, GLUE aims to inspire and connect emerging creatives.
