Meet the Performing Arts Team

Mr Rigby – Director of Performing and Creative Arts and Head of Music

Phil studied music at Durham University and learned to teach in the North East. He moved to London in 2016, joined KAA straight away and never looked back. He plays the Drums, Saxophone and Piano and once played for the Reserve Army in a marching military band. His favourite shows are The Producers, We Will Rock You and Little Shop of Horrors.

Ms Curtis – Head of Dance

Ozora studied Dance at Chichester University and went on to study Dance in Education at Brighton University in 2018. Ozora taught dance for four years at a school in Sussex and moved to London in 2023. Ozora specialises in contemporary but has a love for Musical Theatre. Her favourite choreographers are Ceyda Tanc, Mathew Bourne and Hofesh Schecter and her current favourite shows are Newsies and Six.

Ms Redford – Head of Drama

Sarah studied Theatre at Lancaster University. Growing up, she fell in love with not only drama but all the performing arts, dancing from the age of 3 and gaining a DipLCM in Music Theatre Performance. She joined KAA in 2020 and enjoys the wide range of theatre making opportunities here at the academy. Her favourite plays are Nick Payne’s ‘Constellations’, Richard Bean’s ‘One Man, Two Guvnors’ and Suzie Miller’s ‘Prima Facie’.

Ms Ellington – Teacher of Music

Llodawna studied at Brunel University specialising in Music Composition. She joined KAA in 2022 and knew since then that it would bring the best out of her. Her main instrument is vocals, but she also plays piano (particularly Gospel). Llodawna grew up watching, participating in, and directing several choirs across the country, and now directs the KAA choir. Her favourite musicals are Hamilton, and The Lion King.

Ms Campbell – Teacher of DanceĀ 

Leah has been performing since a young age in a variety of dance styles. She then went on and moved to London in 2015 and studied contemporary dance at the University of Roehampton. She has been a part of contemporary dance companies and hip-hop competition troupes throughout her career. She loves all dance styles, but her favourite’s are commercial and hip-hop. Her favourite shows are Chicago, Moulin Rouge and Mamma Mia.
