The Year 8 boys turned around a half time deficit on Thursday to clinch a place in the QPR Schools’ League play-off final.

Bilal E (8 Berners-Lee) gave KAA an early lead with a thunderous drive from 20 yards. With the game equal at 1-1, a lapse in concentration saw St Thomas More react the quickest to a long throw, exposing Haytam (8 Dyson) between the sticks. St Thomas More took a slender 2-1 lead into the break.

Midway through the second half, Marwan (8 Balon) capitalised on unmanned space on the right wing to slip the ball to Cameron (8 Balon), who burst into the opposition’s box to calmly finish and bring the teams level. The full time whistle was blown and a penalty shoot out loomed.

KAA won the toss and opted to shoot first. Having taken two penalties each, KAA had a one goal advantage with Abdelkrim (8 Berners Lee) taking the deciding penalty. He confidently slot the ball past the goalkeeper and sent his team mates wild with jubilation.
