KAA Basketball Team Victory
by Vashti Turner on April 24, 2015 in Sports
We are delighted to announce that our Boys Basketball team have been crowned Year 7 West London Basketball champions! The team have had a fantastic season, with a 100% unbeaten record in the league. The boys were presented with the league trophy after beating Fulham College Boys 18 – 12 in their last game of the season.
The basketball team trains after school once a week and competes in the league during Enrichment time. Speaking about their success today, Bilal (7 Jobs) said “There were some days we didn’t have any subs and that was really tiring, but we encouraged each other and did really well. The final game was the hardest because it was really close. My favourite moment was lifting the trophy.” Teammate Haytam (7 Dyson) added they were successful because “we worked well as team.” PE teacher and team coach Mr Bernard said “it was a proud moment seeing them lift the school’s first ever cup!”
Congratulations to the boys for winning KAA’s first silverware – the first of many!
