Match Report by Mr Campbell.
On Saturday 7th May, a rewards trip was organised for students who have displayed enthusiasm and excellent effort in PE. The selected students headed to Loftus Road stadium, home of QPR, to watch a Championship match between Queens Park Rangers and Bristol City.
Mr Miller and Mr Campbell supervised the trip which was a short bus journey to Shepherds Bush, followed by a short walk alongside the QPR fans. Despite it being the final home game of the season and QPR had not reached their goal of making it back to the Premier League, the fans were still in the mood for a celebration.
The match was action packed with immense support from the home crowd, along with the KAA students. The students were extremely excited to be seated in the front row and even managed to help return the footballs which went out of play behind the goal, giving them back directly to the players. The students were overwhelmed with this experience, as for some this was the first time watching a live football match.
We were all on the edge of our seats as multiple shots deflected off the woodwork. Nevertheless Karl Henry scored a superb winner as QPR ended their season with a 1-0 victory over Bristol City. Students felt very privileged and proposed that ‘we should watch QPR play more often, they are our local team!’
We will be back next season!
