Match Report by Miss Demeester

As the league begins to draw to a close, the U13 girls had two back-to-back fixtures this week. In glorious sunshine the team travelled to play Chelsea Academy and Sion Manning.

A number of our team now attend football training at Westway and their improvement on the pitch was clearly visible. Excellent footwork from Asia and Randa kept possession for KAA in the first half. Some missed shots meant that we failed to tally a goal and Chelsea managed to score in the final few seconds of the first half making it 2-0 down at half time. Not to be defeated that easily, the team returned to the pitch stronger than before, and seasoned player Lilian scored a brilliant goal with only 4 mins left. Unfortunately, our valiant effort was not enough the final score was 2-1 to Chelsea Academy.

Next up was Sion Manning, and the team were determined not to repeat the previous result. Annalise opened the score sheet whilst Tyra, Cristina and Toni put up a strong defence to make sure there were no shots from their opponents. This time the tables were turned and we entered the second half 2-0 up. Captain Asia reminded the team not to get complacent and they didn’t – the second half saw 2 more goals for us! Final score 4-0 victory to KAA! Well done girls!
