Match Report by Mr Bernard
The year 7 boys’ football team returned to action on Thursday after their opening victory in the West London Schools League. They faced Fulham College Boys, who were looking to bounce back after an opening day defeat.
The team were full of confidence after their previous 7-2 victory, but several tactical changes were made to the team in an effort to improve our defensive play. Dante Palmer Acosta (7 Baker) and Shane Phippen (7 Hepburn)came into the defence and proved to be a welcome addition, dominating the Fulham forwards.
It was an end to end game in the first half, with both teams battling hard to gain an advantage. Fortunately, that came for KAA just before half time as Mahi Miah (7 Matisse) coolly finished off excellent wing play by Callum Carter-Driouch (7 Matisse).
Being in front suited the KAA side and we began to play some excellent football. It wasn’t long before Mahi scored his second of the game to put us in a comfortable position.
With two minutes to go Fulham pulled a goal back, which could have made us nervous. However, with a goal scorer in such good form as Mahi, it wasn’t long before he claimed his third of the game to cap his second hat trick in as many games. Not bad statistics!
A well fought 3-1 victory was deserved and we look forward to our next away games in the English Schools and Inner London cup competitions.
Man of the Match: Shane Phippen (7 Hepburn)
