Match Report by Miss Demeester.
This week the Year 7 Netball team braved the cold to play 3 back-to-back matches against Sion Manning, More House and Queens Gate.
Their first match was against Sion Manning and they started the game strongly. Excellent defending from Jainaba (7 Matisse) and new team member Evie (7 Matisse) meant that KAA kept the shots away. A goal by Mia (7 Hepburn) in the first half proved to be enough and the team had their first victory, winning 1-0.
Next the team faced a challenging match against More House. It was a very close game, starting 1-0 to KAA with a lovely shot by Ella-Lee (7 Baker). More House equalised and then took the lead but Asia (7 Fitzgerald) and CJ (7 Chaplin) worked hard to feed the ball to the shooters allowed us to end the first half 3-2 up. The second half proved equally challenging, with More House coming out strong and matching our score again. Determined, we fought hard to get one more goal in. A win looked likely until the final few seconds when More House managed to equal the score, ending the match in a 4-4 draw.
With the temperature dropping, the girls took on their final match against Queens Gate. They showed resilience in the cold and worked tirelessly through the match. An early goal boosted their confidence but the final score came out with Queens Gate on top. Overall, it was a very successful night for our inexperienced Year 7 team, and the girls are excited for their final match against Chelsea Academy next week.
