Match report by Mr Hajjaj

The year 8 boys football team were largely dominant against a well organised and well-drilled Fulham College Boys team this week. KAA looked to be coasting to victory when a last minute penalty awarded in the 6th minute of stoppage time presented FCB with an opportunity to snatch a point from the jaws of defeat.

A nervy start from KAA allowed FCB take the lead after a sequence of delightful passing topped up with a neat finish. Amin (8 Nijinsky) pulled off an excellent double save to keep KAA in the game.

The midfield battle began to intensify as the FCB playmaker continued to turn up the heat. Eknoor (8 Hepburn) and Fedell (8 Kahlo) were tasked with doubling up on FCB’s main player who was pulling all the strings. This suffocation reduced the FCB threat, allowing KAA to slowly creep their way back into the contest. With the main threat nullified, Mahi (8 Matisse) managed to slip his way through the centre backs, bringing the score level.

KAA were now on the front foot. Looking to make their dominance count, KAA created another opportunity 15 minutes into the second half. Harvey (8 Lennon) stopped a dangerous attack on the left to set free Obayda (8 Kahlo), who produced a lovely piece of skill to outfox FCB’s midfield. This subsequently set Mahi free to net another goal.

KAA held a narrow lead whilst controlling the game only to see FCB awarded a late penalty ensuring honours were even.
