Arrangements for new academic year

by Vashti Turner  on July 15, 2020  in  Academy News

In line with national guidance, all students are returning to school in September and attendance will be compulsory again.

A full update from the Principal on arrangements for the new academic year – including details of the use of the academy’s KAA2 site for years 7 & 8 – is available here: Arrangements for the new academic year

Further information will be sent to parents later this week.

Parent Q&A Sessions

If, having read the above, you would like to speak to the Principal personally, we will be holding Parent Q&A sessions after school at KAA1 on the dates below. We have allocated different year groups to different days, but people should feel welcome to come to any session. The sessions will be held in the Theatre with social distancing, and we will record them and add them to our website too for anyone who cannot attend. It is also possible to call and speak to the Principal or one of the leadership team on 02073135800 or email us at info@kaa.org.uk to discuss this.

  • Y6 students joining in September – Wednesday 15th July, 6 pm
  • Current Y7 students, who will be in Y8 next year – Thursday 16th July, 5 pm
  • All other students – Friday 17th July, 4 pm

KAA2 Tour for Years 7 & 8

We would like to invite any interested Y7 & 8 parents to a full tour of KAA2 at 5 pm on Wednesday 26th August, shortly before term starts. At this event there will also be a chance to meet your child’s Director of Learning and our Special Educational Needs staff.

For further information about the KAA2 & the facilities available for students at this site, please visit https://kaa.org.uk/students-parents/kaa2/.

September start dates

We will be running an extended induction programme for all students to help them return from a long period of lockdown and go over our “COVID secure” practices. Please note these are slightly different to the previous dates, to reflect the need for more induction.
