DfE Holiday Activities & Food (HAF) Programme in Kensington & Chelsea

The Winter Holiday Activities & Food (HAF) programme has launched in Westminster and Kensington & Chelsea.

Running from 19th December until 2nd January, Westminster and RBKC have over 50 local organisations across the bi-borough offering free activities and free, healthy meals to children and young people aged 4-16 years, who are eligible for (means tested) Free School Meals.

Activities are available for a minimum of 4 hours per day and include sports camps (football, basketball, boxing), arts & crafts, dance & drama classes, sewing, cultural activities, coding and day trips. Families can choose the best provision to meet their needs. There are also activities for those with special educational needs and disabilities.

Brainspark Games Winter Holiday (HAF) Camps

Brainspark Games are building an eduverse of culturally inclusive, 3D immersive, educational mobile games aligned with the UK national curriculum.

In partnership with RBKC, they are running Winter Holiday HAF camps in Acklam Road and across local venues from 19-22 Dec 2022 and 2 Jan day trip to Winter Wonderland!

They have 25 FREE places available for children on free school meals and also have a few paid places at £35 per day and will be holding a waitlist.

Brainspark Games are offering an exciting range of activities including;

·  Sports & wellbeing; yoga, fencing, ball games, archery skateboarding, gardening & nature walks!

·  Educational games, digital skills & mentoring; 3D immersive educational mobile games, digital skills incl Procreate, BizKidz – business skills, mentoring & careers advice!

·  Arts, crafts & model making; candles & soap crafting, lego model making, board games, drawing & painting in mixed media, wax-seal crafts, clay models, gardening, origami & puppetry!

·  Health food & budgeting; cooking club, food budgeting, growing foods!

Free Breakfast Club

Between the 19th – 23rd of December 2022, All Saints Church is providing a free breakfast club from 8:30 am – 10:30 am.

Location: Clydesdale Road, W11 1JS

 

Free Holiday Film Activity

Urban Screen & The Screen Community is a local charity that has previously worked with KAA young people. They are running free film activities with hot food project between the 19th-23rd of December. This is aimed at 11-16 yr olds on Free School Meals. The activity is based in Paddington Arts at Westbourne Park and they can help with travel if needed.

FREE Holiday Film Activity with hot food for week 19th – 23rd December  10.30am – 3pm.

Watch films, learn how to make a short film and a visit to the cinema all with hot lunches and snacks.

Aimed at 11 – 16 yr olds on Free school meals.
