Spring Term Enrichment Options

We are delighted to launch the Spring Term 2023 enrichment programme, which will run from Monday 16th January – Thursday 17th March 2023.

What is enrichment?

In addition to their weekly timetabled lessons, students at KAA are also offered an extensive programme of enrichment designed to stretch their thinking, broaden their horizons and teach them more about the world.

Despite there being an academic focus to some of the sessions, the primary goal of enrichment is for students to enjoy learning and to love spending time at school. Enrichment, for many students, supports their social and emotional needs, allowing them the confidence to build friendships, to focus on their future and to grow as individuals. It also ensures students are kept healthy through sporting and active sessions. Students will get to try out sports and activities that they may never have come across before. They will also get the chance to compete with other students, tutor groups, houses and schools, thus promoting healthy competition and team work.

It is non-compulsory but we encourage all students to choose at least one enrichment per term. We expect all students to show INTREPIDUS in their Enrichment choices. Intrepidus means students push themselves to do new things and take risks in a safe environment.

Which enrichments are on the timetable this term?

The presentation below explains more about each enrichment on offer, including a full timetable. Parents can look through this with their child at home, but form tutors will also share this information with their class at school.

When does enrichment take place?

Enrichment takes place Monday to Friday, from 4pm to 4.45pm Monday to Thursday and 3pm to 3.45pm on Fridays (unless otherwise stated in the registration form).

Spring term enrichments will begin the week commencing Monday 16th January 2023 and run to Thursday 17th March 2023, with a break for half term from Monday 12th February to Friday 16th February. Enrichment will not run on Thursday 19th January, Thursday 9th February and Thursday 9th March due to Parents’ Evenings taking place on these dates. In addition to this, from Monday 27th February to Friday 10th March Netball, Basketball and Volleyball enrichments will be paused due to mock exams for Year 11 taking place in the Sports Hall.

How can my child register for enrichment?

To register your child for enrichment, they must fill in the registration form below by Thursday 5th January at 5pm. Please fill in the personal details section carefully to ensure that you get the clubs that you sign up for. Please note that you must be logged into a KAA email account to complete the registration form. If the link isn’t working, it is because you are not logged into your child’s KAA account on your browser.
