Year 7 Boys Football Team

The year 7 bfootball - boysoy’s football team tasted defeat in the first EVER competitive fixture for KAA. The game was the teams’ first in the West London Schools League, which is made up of teams from all the local schools. The team was excited for the game and anticipated a tough match with Holland Park. We started brightly, with Bilal Bakali scoring an excellent goal from outside the box. Unfortunately our excitement was short-lived as Holland Park responded with four goals. It was a valiant effort from the team and we showed courage and resilience throughout the match. Cole Waygood demonstrated real intrepidus spirit until the final whistle and gained applause from his team mates. Onto the next game and we will be working hard in training to improve on the result.

Year 7 Girls Football Teamfootball girls

The year 7 girl’s football team had their first game on Tuesday 30th September, travelling to play against St Georges School (Kent) in the English Schools Cup competition. The cup is for under 13’s and therefore the girls were going to find it difficult up against older opponents. Nevertheless, the girls performed excellently and represented the school well. After going a goal down the girls battled back and equalised through a superb effort from Ayah Hemmid (see picture). As the KAA team began to tire we unfortunately gave away two penalties in the second half which saw St Georges go through to the next round. There was fantastic defensive displays from Katie Young and Vitara Herman which gives us encouragement and ensures we feel positive going into our other competitions.

RBKC Mini-Marathon Event

The RBKC mini-marathon event took place this week, which saw 12 KAA pupils compete in the long distance race against pupils from other local schools. The event is used to identify talented runners who are selected to represent the borough at the London Youth Games. Being in the under13 age group meant our young runners were up against some more experienced runners but the KAA squad were determined to give it their best. I was really proud seeing all of our runners cross the finish line in a respectable time and am confident we will do even better next year! Well done to all the participants for showing intrepidus spirit and trying a physical activity they have not done before. Jeriel Quainoo and Vitara Herman were the outstanding performers for KAA on the day.
