Match Report by Mr Bernard

Y7 football v harris academyAfter a blistering start to their season in the league, the year 7 football team travelled to Harris Academy (Beckenham) in their round 1 English schools cup fixture. The long journey was not the ideal preparation, however the team were determined to continue their winning streak.

KAA got off to a great start, opening the scoring through red hot striker Mahi Miah, but this proved to be the last of our good fortune in the first half as Harris raced into a comfortable 6 goal lead at half time. Mr Bernard had to work his coaching magic at half time to lift the spirits of the team. We discussed our KAA core value of resilience and how important it was to never give up and represent our school with pride.

The second half performance of the team was exceptional. Rami Chikh was a joy to watch in midfield and we worked together to dominate the play against a very good Harris team. Despite leaking one more goal, we had plenty of chances to get back in the game but it wasn’t to be.

We can take the positives from the game and learn from our mistakes for future games. We wish Harris the best of luck in the competition.

Man of the Match: Rami Chikh
