Match Report by Miss Demeester

The year 7 girl’s football team made their debut this week competing in the Inner London League against UCL Academy. The newly formed and excited team travelled to Regents Park for the match.

The team started strong gaining possession early in the match and remaining dominant. An unfortunate slip up meant that UCLA took the lead, but it was not for long as star midfielder Yousra (7 Hamilton) scored a goal to level the score.

Returning for second half the team continued to show their skills. Annalise (7 Hamilton) came on late in the second half and gave the team some excellent support in the midfield. Another goal for UCLA put the pressure on but it only made our team more determined. Yoursa again levelled the score and as the clock ran down it was looking to go into extra time. Toni (7 Radcliffe) dropped back to defend and made a valiant effort to keep the goals away. Unfortunately it was not meant to be and ULCA snuck another goal in late in the game leaving the score at 3-2.

A disappointing defeat after a brilliant game of football, but the team left feeling enthused to take on their next challengers after half term.

Player of the match: Yousra Cherbika
