Honeyball win Poetry Slam Interim House Competition

On Friday 3rd February the English Department hosted a Poetry Slam as part of our series of interim house competitions. The event took place during lunch time, and students filled the theatre to watch their fellow students perform.

Students from each of KAA’s four houses performed poetry or spoken word, either self-penned or by another author. Special mention went to Mehdi (9 Dyson) for his performance of a poem written by Leila (9 Dyson). Mr Miller and Dr Woodward also joined students and performed for the audience. poetry slam3

The event was judged by Mr Clayton, Miss Arnold, Mr Akhlaque and Mr Waller from the English department. They decided to award first place to Honeyball, winning 2,500 house points. Angelou came second, Pankhurst were placed third, and Franklin were awarded fourth place. poetry slam2

Well done to all of the students (and staff!) who performed and contributed to this fantastic event.
