Christmas Concert 2015
by Vashti Turner on December 29, 2015 in Creativity Drama Music Performance and Creative Arts
On Wednesday 16th December we welcomed family and friends to the theatre for our Christmas concert. The evening was a festive celebration showcasing the talent of the fast-growing KAA Orchestra, Glee Club, Drama Club and the winners of KAA’s Got Talent 2015.
The KAA Orchestra has swelled in numbers with the welcome addition of 2 flautists, a second violinist, our first violist, a pianist, a cellist. The orchestra performed christmas classics including We Wish You a Merry Christmas and In the Hall of the Mountain King. Pianist Adea (7 Baker), who has received a music scholarship from the Tri-Borough, performed a beautiful piano solo.
The Drama Club presented some dramatic scenes from the stage adaptation of Frankenstein, and some comedic sketches from Harry Potter. Our Year 8 actors, the majority of whom performed in last year’s school production of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, were joined this term by a number of Year 7s during Enrichment. It is fantastic to see our Performing Arts culture extending across both year groups as the academy grows.
The night included performances from the Glee Club, a new enrichment that began in September this year. The singers performed O Holy Night and Silent Night. At the close of the evening the Glee Club were joined on stage by all performers for an energetic performance of Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer.
A huge thank you to all the friends and family that came along to celebrate and support our performers.
