Sports Day took place at Linford Christie Stadium on Thursday 13th July for students in Years 7, 8, 9 and 12. Students and staff from all four houses battled it out in a variety of track and field events from high jump to relay in our final major house competition of the year – the competition was fierce throughout the day as students competed for the final 20,000 point prize of the year.
A huge congratulations to the following students who broke the school record in these events for their year group: Kairese (7 Berry) – High Jump – 1.5 metres; Yanni (8 Mason) – 800m – 2 minutes 35 seconds;
- Yanni (8 Mason) – Long Jump – 4.75 metres
- Adam (8 Knowles) – Javelin – 16.74 metres
- Anastasiia (8 Taylor) – Long Jump – 3.45 metres
- omi (9 SMITH) – 200m – 26.17 seconds
- Kaya (9 Evaristo) – Javelin – 15.85 metres
Students have waited with anticipation for the results, and in today’s assembly Mr Benson revealed that Honeyball came first with 6,800 points. The final points totals were as follows:
- Honeyball (6,800)
- Angelou (6,370)
- Franklin (6,100)
- Pankhurst (5,710)
The 20,000 house points for Honeyball firmly nudged them ahead of Pankhurst to win this year’s House Cup as it was neck and neck between the two houses before Sports Day! Congratulations to Ms Kruk and Honeyball students on their hard work to win this year’s House Cup!
