Matilda Jr earns cast a standing ovation

This week KAA brought Roald Dahl’s classic tale Matilda to life in the musical Matilda Jr! The cast performed two matinees for local primary schools and care home residents, and two evening performances to packed audiences of students, parents and staff. From the very first rehearsal to the final curtain call the cast poured their hearts and souls into this production, resulting in what Mr Benson praised as a “West End quality” show.

Every single cast member, band musician, and crew member was fantastic in all four shows, and rightly earned themselves the longest standing ovation we have seen in KAA’s 10 year history from the packed out theatre on closing night on the final evening. A special mention must go to our Matilda (Candice, 8 OMARI), Miss Honey (Ana, 12 MAATHAI) and Patrick (12 NIGHTINGALE) for their flawless performances in the principal roles.

A special thanks to the KAA Intrepidus Trust, Delancey. Dancing Ledge, Fremantle and The Earls Court Development Company for their continued support of the Performing Arts at KAA. It is this support which makes school productions at this level possible.
