KAA choir open the BAFTAs with Gareth Malone

On Sunday 12th May Gareth Malone and the KAA choir performed at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) awards ceremony following their appearance in the BBC2 documentary The Choir: Our School by the Tower earlier this year.
Gareth and the choir opened the show with a cover of London Grammar’s song “Strong”. Suad performed spoken word at the intro of the song, and Adil, Irene and Lyric had solos in the arrangement. We were blown away by the way all students rose to the occasion and put on a fantastic performance.
Students performed in front of an audience packed with TV stars, including Ant & Dec, Benedict Cumberbatch, Holly Willoughby and Graham Norton. They also had the chance to walk the red carpet before the show.
You can watch their performance in full for the next month on BBC iPlayer by clicking here. Photographs from the night are available on our gallery page.
