by Vashti Turner on May 25, 2020 in Academy News Enrichment KAA News Performance and Creative Arts
On Friday 22nd May the KAA News team released their fifth episode, and their second during the coronavirus lockdown.
Our young reporters covered the upcoming Eid celebrations as Ramadan was drawing to a close and discussed ways of celebrating safely during lockdown.
Our special guest for this episode was RBKC Deputy Leader, Cllr Kim Taylor Smith, who was interviewed by Year 7 reporter Ella. They discussed the role of the council, why Cllr Taylor-Smith entered politics, how to get young people involved in politics, the environmental impact of the coronavirus lockdown, and ways to stay occupied during quarantine.
This special episode also featured the debut performance from the KAA lockdown choir with a cover version of “When will my life return?” from the film Tangled, with their own topical lyrics.
