October Half Term Activities

Students finish school at 2.55pm tomorrow for the October half term break from Monday 21st October to Friday 1st November. All students return to school at 8.25am of Monday 4th November.

Below is a summary of events your child may like to attend over the two week half term break. For older students needing a space to study over the half term break, please visit https://www.rbkc.gov.uk/libraries/your-library to find your nearest public library.

 

Our Library Saved – 19th to 26th Oct 2019

This October marks 129 years of public service by North Kensington Library, one of the first publicly funded libraries in London. The Friends of North Kensington Library invite you to Come Celebrate the Library’s birthday with 7 days of workshops in Drama, Music, Creative Writing & Performance for all ages. Lancaster Youth Centre – 21 October 2019

RBKC want local young people to be the first to get a glimpse of the new Youth Hubs, so if you’re aged 11 to 18 then why not come along to Lancaster Youth Hub meet and greet on Monday 21st October from 6.30pm. You can check out the new space, see what will be on offer and let orgnaisers know what could be even better.

EPIC Holiday Activities – 21st to 25th October 2019

S.A.F.E Camp at Phoenix Academy – 21st to 25th October 2019

London Sports Trust are hosting a FREE half term camp for 8 – 16 year olds with athletics, football, multisports, arts & crafts, farming, drama and more. Register at https://www.londonsportstrust.org/project-01 (or see flyer attached).

London Knights Basketball Camp – 21st to 25th October 2019

London Knights Basketball Club, established 1997, are hosting an October half term Basketball Camp from 21-25 October 10.00 -14.00 at Haverstock School, NW3 2BQ, opposite Chalk Farm tube station.

The camp is for players 12-16 years old.

Ealing Trailfinders Rugby Camp at Latymer Upper School – 24st to 25th October 2019

This October half term Latymer Upper School are offering free rugby coaching at their Wood Lane site (Wood Lane Sports Ground, Wood Lane, London, W12 0HJ) for aspiring female rugby players. These sessions are free to attend with no need to sign up prior to the event – see flyer below for details.

October Half Term and Night Safari at Holland Park Ecology Centre – 21st to 25th October 2019

A full week exploring the fabulous outdoors along with arts and crafts, shelter building, minibeast hunts and more (Year 7 students only). City Lions Creative Workshops – 22nd – 24th October 2019

FREE creative workshops run by City Lions and City of Westminster including stop motion animation and trips to historical monuments and Christie’s Auctioneers. For students aged 13 to 16. Book a place at www.citylions.org.uk (or complete application form here).

Venture Centre – 21st October to 1st November 2019 (Year 7 only)

Two fantastic playground areas complete with tango swings, tree houses and rope bridges with Ofsted registered play workers running a variety of art and craft activities, sports and games.

Open between 10.30am and 5.30pm during the holidays. Entry is free for children aged between five and 12 and is open every day after school between 3.30pm and 6pm and on Saturdays between 11am and 4.45pm.

Young people can access the service by walking in, speaking with one of the playworkers and requesting a registration/membership form that must be filled out by the legal guardian before a child can stay on the playground without their parents

Hornimans Adventure Playground – 21st October to 1st November 2019

Hornimans Adventure Playground exists to provide facilities for play and recreation for children aged between 5 and 16 years. A broad range of exciting play opportunities designed to help them develop children’s full potential through activities/workshops that are free, multi-cultural and promote creativity, imagination and self-expression.

Young people can access the service by walking in, speaking with one of the playworkers and requesting a registration/membership form that must be filled out by the legal guardian before a child can stay on the playground without their parents.

Open 11am – 6pm during half term and 11am to 5pm on Saturdays. Open 3.30pm – 7pm second week of half term.
