Sports Day took place at Linford Christie Stadium on Thursday 11th July for students in Years 7, 8, 9 and 12. Students and staff from all four houses battled it out in a variety of track and field events from high jump to relay in our final major house competition of the year – the competition was fierce throughout the day as students competed for the final 20,000 point prize of the year.

A huge congratulations to the following students who broke the school record in these events for their year group: Florence (7 KENRICK) – 300m; Kanece (7 JEFFRY) – 800m; Laura (7 PORTLOCK) – Long Jump; Amirag (7 LASLETT) – Javelin; Michaela (8 MCQUEEN) – 60m; Jervany (8 ZHAO) – 300m; Roshaun (9 MASON) – 100m; and Yanni (9 MASON) – 800m & Long Jump.

Students have waited with anticipation for the results, and in today’s assembly Ms Jordan revealed that Pankhurst came first, ahead of Honeyball in second, Franklin in third, and Angelou in fourth. The 20,000 house points for Pankhurst firmly nudged them ahead of Angelou to win this year’s House Cup as it was neck and neck before Sports Day!
