Times Tables House Competition

On Friday 30th September the maths department hosted the first Times Tables Rock Stars House Competition during lunch time. The event was well attended by staff and student spectators keen to support the representatives from their houses!

Mr Edwards said, “It was super to have 45 students and staff members, ranging from Year 7 to Year 12 and beyond, completing so many time-tables during their lunchtime… By my calculations we had at least 4000 times tables answered correctly, plus many more sheets where one or two mistakes only were made.”

He added, “Even more exciting than the people taking part was the immense enthusiasm from students and staff in supporting their team members and some fun times were had dancing along to some rock classics at the same time!”

The winning house was Franklin with 22 correctly completed times tables sheets! The 2500 house points will be a huge boost for Franklin in the first interim house competition of the year.

Thank you to everyone who attended the Maths competition and congratulations to Franklin house! The maths department are now looking forward to hosting a Gelosia competition for their next interim house competition.
