Y11 Mock Exams – Monday 29th November to Thursday 9th December

Year 11 Mock exams take place from Monday 29th November to Thursday 9th December. Friday 10th December is a staff training day and there are no classes or exams. The full timetable is provided below for parent reference.

During the mock period there will be some changes to the school day. Students are expected to arrive every day at the usual time – between 8:00am and 8:30am. Their finish time will depend on the length of their afternoon exam. There are no normal Year 11 lessons taking place during the 2-week mock period. Instead, students will have masterclass lessons. These lessons will be revision lessons run by Heads of Department. If a student does not have an exam or a masterclass, they will study in their timetabled classroom – where they will be expected to revise independently. If students don’t have an afternoon exam, they will be registered in the dining hall at 2pm by a member of ESLT and then sent home to revise (behaviour dependent).

Students should now be revising at home in preparation for these mock exams and the real GCSEs to follow. Creating a revision timetable will really help them do this in an organised way. We have issued each student with a blank revision timetable and advised them on how to go about this. Please go through these revision timetables with them so you know how they are preparing. Students have also been given a personal copy of their exam timetable. This shows when each of their exams are and how long they will last. Students must take care of these and bring them into school every day during the mock period.

Following the mocks, students will receive their results on the Mock Results Evening, which will take place on Thursday 6th January from 6pm.
