Only the top two teams from the West London Finals could qualify to represent West London in Crystal Palace, the home of London Athletics, on Wednesday 9th March. Triumphant in the Kensington and Chelsea finals, the year 8 boys were gleaming with confidence and pride at the prospect of competing in the grand finale!

The athletes competed against eight local schools in six track and five field events. KAA dominated the track events in style, enjoying victory in four of the five events. Jeriel (8 Kidston) kick-started our journey with an impressive win in the 2 lap race with a rapid time of 21.8 seconds.  Ali (8 Dyson), equally as impressive, dominated in the shot put, achieving maximum points with a powerful throw of 8.30 metres.

Once all the events were completed, the officials announced the final standings, in reverse order. A huge roar bellowed through the sports hall upon learning that KAA had finished in second place and were on their way to compete against the crème de la crème of London.

Success was achieved through the athletes encouraging and supporting one another throughout every event.
