Charity food bank collection

KAA is organising a new charity initiative this year. The Heads of Houses and a team of sixth form students are launching a charity scheme in which we are hoping students and their families will help us to collect goods for local food banks in the run up to the winter holidays. Following a difficult year for many, we want to champion one of our core values: citizenship.

KAA will aim to collect non-perishable foods and domestic goods for three local food banks; The Trussell Trust, Tender Loving Care and North Kensington Community Kitchen. The food banks have said that they are in need of the following items:

Food:

●     Tinned fish (sardines, tuna, mackerel, salmon)

●     Tinned fruit

●     Tinned meat

●     Tinned soup

●     Tinned veg (sweetcorn, Peas, beans, carrots & potatoes)

●     Dried rice (500g – 2kg only)

●     Instant noodles

●     Custard Rice pudding / Jelly

●     Long life milk

●     Long life juice

●     Biscuits

●     Dried cous cous

Toiletries:

●     Soap, shampoo & conditioner, shower gel, deodorant, shaving cream

Household:

●     Washing liquid

●     washing powder

Please note – the food banks have surplus pasta and tinned beans. We kindly ask that you do not donate either of these items.

We will be collecting from Monday 7th December until Thursday 17th December. Students will be able to bring any donations to school and deposit them in boxes at their assigned entrance to the building. There is no expectation for families to provide food or goods, however if you do have any of the items on the list available to donate, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your support of KAA and our community.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact Miss Nix who is organising the project at e.nix@kaa.org.uk
